Disney is gearing up for a grand celebration of America’s 250th birthday by taking part in the 2026 Tournament of Roses Parade. This event promises to be a colorful spectacle featuring Mickey and his friends, alongside over 50 veterans who now proudly serve as Disney Cast Members.
In an exciting announcement, The Walt Disney Company revealed that it will participate in the upcoming Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena with a float titled “Disney Celebrates America.” This entry serves as a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s semiquincentennial, honoring 250 years of American history through the beloved stories and dreams that have inspired countless individuals both domestically and internationally for over a century.
Leading this vibrant procession will be Mickey Mouse and his friends, who will ride in a beautifully adorned vehicle embellished with patriotic red, white, and blue floral arrangements. Joining them will be more than 50 veterans, along with their families, representing the spirit of service and dedication.
Each flower on this spectacular float has deep significance for military veterans. Among them are the iconic red poppies, which have long been recognized as a symbol of remembrance for fallen soldiers, tracing back to World War I. The float will also feature an array of other flowers including rosemary, blue irises, white lilies, chrysanthemums, and red roses, all chosen to convey love, honor, and gratitude toward veterans everywhere.
Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, expressed pride in participating in this historic parade. He stated, "We are thrilled to take part in the 2026 Tournament of Roses Parade as part of our ‘Disney Celebrates America’ initiative, commemorating our nation’s 250th anniversary. Both Disney and the Tournament of Roses Parade have a rich tradition of celebrating the essence of America and the remarkable people who contribute to its greatness, including our service members, veterans, and their families. We are excited to showcase our veteran cast members and kick off this momentous year at such an iconic event while sharing the Disney magic that connects generations."
